Vice Speaker Adil Aliyev Joins Commemoration of Shahids
Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis Adil Aliyev joined the commemorations of the Patriotic War shahids on 18/19 November.
Speaking at the ceremony in memoriam the shahid Asad Mahir oglu Asadli in the Nizami District of Baku, Mr Aliyev said that the glorious 44-day-long victory march led by President/Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev had culminated in the brilliant victory and the liberation – forever – of our native, historical lands from the invaders. Mr Aliyev voiced his deepest respect for the memory of the shahids fallen in the name of that Victory, adding that it was precisely thanks to the heroism of our warriors that the territorial wholeness and sovereignty of our land had been restored and the stalled resolutions of the UN Security Council had finally been carried out at the long last. Asad Asadli died as a true brave whilst he was leading his brothers-in-arms out of encirclement; he was decorated posthumously with the medals ‘For the Motherland’, ‘For Military Merit’, ‘For Liberation of Fuzuli’ and ‘For Liberation of Khojavend’, Mr Aliyev mentioned before asking the Almighty to rest the souls of all our shahids merry.
Next, there was the commemoration of the shahid Sanan Shahin oglu Abdullayev in the Narimanov District of Baku. Adil Aliyev, senior functionaries of the district administration and the local public went to the Martyrs’ Lane II to pay their respects to the memory of all those fallen in the Patriotic War. The vice speaker talked about Sanan Abdullayev’s courage in battle in the ranks of our glorious Army and mentioned the warrior having been decorated with the medals ‘For the Motherland’, ‘Valiant Warrior’ and ‘For Liberation of Fuzuli’ in recognition of his heroism.
The cares of the shahid families and of the gazies alike are invariably a state priority. Those people are always embraced with the care of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, Adil Aliyev continued.
Mr Aliyev mentioned the large-scale restoration and building work started in Garabagh shortly after the end of the Patriotic War. Our Garabagh has a new lease of life; we are indebted to those who brought us this victory, the vice speaker concluded.
