The Patriotic War Shahid Jamil Habil oglu Mammadli Commemorated at his Former School

MP Nigyar Arpadarai, the head of the Sabayil District Executive Authority Vugar Zeynalov and members of the local public attended the opening of a bas-relief and a bust of the Patriotic War shahid Jamil Habil oglu Mammadli at the secondary school No 163 of which he had used to be a pupil.

The assembly honoured the memory of the war’s fallen with a minute of silence. Jamil Mammadli’s plaque and bust were adorned with flower bouquets.

Those who talked at the ceremony mentioned the courage shown by Jamil who had been at the forefront from the first days of the counter-offensive launched to apprehend the enemy provocations. He had not spared his own life for the Victory that bears the incomparable importance for the state and people of Azerbaijan. Jamil Mammadli was taken down by a sniper’s bullet in the Dordchinar village in the Fuzuli Province. In recognition of his wartime valour, he was decorated with the medals ‘For the Motherland’, ‘For Liberation of Fuzuli’, ‘For Liberation of Khojavend’ and ‘Valiant Warrior’ posthumously.

His former school teachers said they were proud of having educated the patriotic young man that Jamil was.

Nigyar Arpadarai witnessed her deepest respect to our shahids, underlined the importance of the patriotic education of our youth and mentioned the public love for the shahids and the state care of them.
