Member of GNAT, Head of Turkey-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Shamil Ayrim and Delegation Go to Guba

The visiting delegation led by the member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and leader of the Turkey-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Working Group Şamil Ayrım travelled to the town of Guba on 13 November.

The head of the Azerbaijan-Turkey Inter-Parliamentary Connexions Working Group/chairman of a Milli Majlis committee Ahliman Amiraslanov and the MPs Eldar Ibrahimov, Sattar Mehbaliyev, Malahat Ibrahimghizi, Agalar Valiyev, Eldar Guliyev and Ramin Mammadov kept the guests company on this trip.

First, the delegation met with the head of the Guba Province Executive Authority Ziyaddin Aliyev who told the Turkish MPs of the history of Guba and the path of growth it has covered of late, the ethnic minorities populating the province and the spirit of tolerance reigning there.

In turn, Şamil Ayrım talked about Azerbaijan’s glorious victory in the Patriotic War. The Shusha Declaration signed between our countries would only be gaining in geostrategic importance over time, Mr Ayrım added.

Next, the Turkish delegation went to the Martyrs’ Alley in Guba to pay their respects to the memory of the shahids fallen for their Motherland.

The guests were also shown round the Azerbaijani-Turkish Friendship Park opened in Guba in May this year and showing symbolically the stars and crescents from the flags of the two brotherly states.
