Commemoration of the Shahid Colonel Lieutenant Rasim Abdullayev in Khirdalan

The commemoration of the 44-day Patriotic War shahid, one of the heroic sons of the Motherland, Colonel Lieutenant of the Army Medical Corps Rasim Yagub oglu Abdullayev went in the town of Khirdalan in the Absheron Province with MP Aghil Mammadov, the first deputy head of the Kalbajar Province Executive Authority Eldaniz Mehdiyev, the fallen warrior’s family and companions-in-arms, other shahids’ families and the local public in attendance.

They went to Rasim Abdullayev’s graveside in the Martyrs’ Lane II in Baku where they said prayers for his soul and for the souls of the other brave ones killed in action. They were all remembered with respect.

Colonel Lieutenant Abdullayev’s brothers-in-arms and relatives reminisced about him. They also thanked President Ilham Aliyev, First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, the State, the Government, our nation and the provincial communities for their care of the shahid families, the gazies and the war veterans.

Born in the Kalbajar Province’s village of Birinci Milli on 21 February 1975, Rasim Abdullayev had also seen action in the April Engagement of 2016. He was killed in the battles for Shusha in the 44-day Patriotic War on 8 November 2020.

As decreed by the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Military Doctor Rasim Abdullayev is decorated with the medals ‘For the Motherland’, ‘For Liberation of Shusha’, ‘For Liberation of Khojavend’, ‘For Liberation of Jabrayil’ and ‘For Liberation of Fuzuli’ posthumously for his special merit in the combat for the territorial integrity of the country, courage and heroism, rescuing wounded soldiers and officers, and the brilliant and honourable discharge of his duties.
