Azerbaijani-Japanese Relations are Progressing

The inter-parliamentary friendship groups of the legislative assemblies of Azerbaijan and Japan had a virtual meeting on 17 February.

MP Amina Agazade who helms the working group for inter-parliamentary connexions with Japan welcomed the Japanese colleague Akira Amari and congratulated him on the victory at the latest parliamentary election of the Liberal Democratic Party that he represents. The Azerbaijani lawmaker underlined the bonds of friendship and the co-operation bringing benefits to both parties as she was talking about the relations between Azerbaijan and Japan.

Further, Amina Agazade told Akira Amari about Azerbaijan’s victory in the Patriotic War, the restoration and building work afoot in the provinces of the country ridded from the Armenian occupation and the opportunities for Japanese investors to take part in those processes. She spoke of Japanese companies praisingly.

The leader of the Japan-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary working group Akira Amari mentioned the advent of the thirtieth anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Japan and Azerbaijan as an independent state. The exchange of high-status visits is making a special contribution to the progress of the co-operation between the two countries, Mr Amari added.

What else was discussed there was the successful advance of the versatile Azerbaijani-Japanese relations within the parliamentary dimension as well. It was remarked that the numerous bilateral documents signed to date had formed the legal frameworks for our interaction. The two-way connexions and, especially, the ties between the legislatures of Azerbaijan and Japan can develop further yet what with the broad opportunities that are there to be tapped.

The prospects of the Azerbaijani-Japanese co-operation were talked over at the meeting as well.
