Our MPs to Take Part in Khojali Genocide Commemoration Events

MP Aziz Alakbarli is leaving for Iğdır in Turkey on 24 February to join an event on the 30th anniversary of the Khojali Genocide to be co-organised by Azerbaijan’s Consulate General in Kars and the Language, History and Culture Unity Preservation and Promotion Association.

The event participants will honour the memory of the dwellers of Khojali who became victims of the massacre unleashed in their town. There will be exhaustive information about the tragedy of the Azerbaijanis caused by the Armenian armed forces.

The Azerbaijani MP’s trip will be over on 26 February.

MP Sabir Hajiyev who also leads the working group for inter-parliamentary connexions with Moldova will go to Chișinău on 25 February to participate in the events that the Azerbaijani Embassy in the Moldovan capital is organising on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Khojali Genocide.

The victims of the Khojali Genocide will be commemorated. There will be comprehensive information about that crime against humanity; documents testifying to that atrocity will be on display.

This trip ends on 28 February.

The members of the Azerbaijani parliament Anar Isgandarov, Ramil Hasan and Elshad Mirbashiroglu will depart to Lefkoşa in Northern Cyprus on 25 February in order to attend the conference ‘A Crime against Humanity: the Genocide of Khojali’ marking the 30th anniversary of the tragedy. Our MPs are to deliver speeches there.

The conference is co-organised by the Azerbaijani-Turkish Friendship Association based in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Azerbaijan’s State Diaspora Committee and the Azerbaijani Diaspora Support Foundation.

The conference participants will pay respect to the memory of the civilians massacred in Khojali. There will be exhaustive information about that genocide committed by the armed forces of Armenia.

Our MPs’ trip to the capital city of the TRNC will end on 1 March.
