Deputy Chair of Milli Majlis Joins a Shahid’s Commemoration Ceremony
Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis/Head of the Youth and Sports Committee Adil Aliyev has taken part in the commemoration of the shahid Izzat Hamidov on the occasion of the fallen warrior’s birthday.
All our shahids were remembered and honoured with a minute of silence, and the national anthem of Azerbaijan was sounded at the ceremony that was attended by shahid families, gazies and members of the public.
Vice Speaker Adil Aliyev spoke at the event about how our courageous army led by the victorious Commander-in-Chief had ended the almost thirty years’ Armenian occupation of our lands and had brought us that historic triumph. The 44 days’ Patriotic War that had culminated in that prevalence had enabled our state to demonstrate its might to the whole world – the might thanks to which our territorial integrity and sovereignty were made intact again. The successful accomplishment of the military and diplomatic missions at the cost of our heroes’ blood and the leadership by the Head of State had resulted in the enemy’s defeat on the battlefield and the enemy’s signing the act of surrender, Mr Aliyev continued.
The vice speaker stressed that the shahid families and the gazies were permanently in the focus of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva who are giving certain instructions in the context of their unfailing and constant care of those people.
The shahid Izzat Hamidov’s family members and friends talked about his life, combat path and heroism shown on the Patriotic War’s battlefield. They also thanked the victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and the First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva for their care.
It should be mentioned that the shahid Izzat Hamidov was posthumously decorated with the Flag of Azerbaijan Order and the medals ‘For Liberation of Fuzuli’ and ‘For the Motherland’ in recognition of his valour to the decrees of the president of the republic.
