A Meeting at Milli Majlis
First Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis, chairman of the parliamentary Law Policy and State-Building Committee Ali Huseynli met with Deputy Chair of the Parliament of Bulgaria Mukaddes Nalbant who is visiting in our country on 30 March.
Mr Huseynli welcomed the guest and expressed satisfaction with the high level that the connexions between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria including between their legislatures had attained. He mentioned the two parliamentary friendship groups and their fruitful work.
The Milli Majlis of the sixth convention has had its international activities take on a rather intensive character under the leadership of Speaker Sahiba Gafarova in the two years of work – and that despite the pandemic and the conditions it had created, Ali Huseynli continued.
Bulgaria’s tremendous role in the implementation of the Azerbaijani-European energy projects was brought up as well. On another subject, the First Vice Speaker thanked Mrs Nalbant for the Bulgarian Parliament’s support to Azerbaijan during the 44-day Patriotic War and for the Bulgarian Parliament having passed a document about the Khojali Genocide. Azerbaijan had enforced the well-known four resolutions of the UN and restored its own territorial integrity by liberating the Azerbaijani lands from the Armenian occupation in 2020, Mr Huseynli pointed out.
