Legislatures of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan Ink Two Co-Operation Documents

A co-operation agreement and a roadmap document for 2022 have been signed between the legislative assemblies of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan on 1 April as part of the on-going official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan of the parliamentary delegation helmed by Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.

Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova and Chair of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva attached their signatures to both documents for the Azerbaijani and the Uzbek sides, respectively. The leaders of the two parliaments voiced the shared confidence that the documents they had inked were going to contribute profusely to the continued deepening of inter-parliamentary co-operation and expansion of law-making experience exchanges. It was further said that the progress of the inter-parliamentary relations provided for continued strengthening of the ties between our countries and nations.

The MPs are elected as based on the majority electoral system by free, private and confidential vote reliant on the general, equitable and immediate suffrage. The tenure of a Milli Majlis convocation is 5 years.
