A Meeting at Milli Majlis
The chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee for International and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Samad Seyidov met the ambassador of Turkey to Azerbaijan Cahit Bağçı on 11 April.
Telling Mr Bağçı that he was glad to welcome him, Mr Seyidov broached the bonds of fraternity and friendship between the two countries as well as their relations progressing in every field. The two brotherly states support each other on every subject, according to Mr Seyidov.
Samad Seyidov stressed that the Shusha Declaration signed by the presidents of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Republic of Turkey Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan had taken the Azerbaijani-Turkish relations to a new level qualitatively. He also underlined the importance of the first joint meeting of Milli Majlis committees that had taken place in Shusha on 8 April and the significance of the Azerbaijani-Turkish-Georgian inter-governmental memorandum of understanding about conducting the Caucasus Eagle joint Special Forces’ exercise that had been tabled at that meeting.
The co-operation between Azerbaijan and Turkey advances in the inter-parliamentary dimension, too; our MPs back each other under the aegis of the international organisations, Mr Seyidov concluded.
Ambassador Cahit Bağçı thanked for the kind welcome before talking about the efforts made to intensify and expand the brotherhood and friendship between Azerbaijan and Turkey further. He also referred to the bilateral and multilateral co-operation platforms formed to date. Mr Bağçı mentioned the first Trilateral Meeting of the speakers of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Pakistan and the Baku Declaration signed based on its outcome. Turkey is always right by Azerbaijan’s side, Mr Bağçı emphasised.
The growth prospects of the mutually advantageous interaction and the initiatives to bring sustained peace and co-operation to the region were discussed, too, as the meeting went on.
