A Meeting with Korean Ambassador
The leader of the Azerbaijan-Korea Inter-Parliamentary Relations Working Group of the Milli Majlis Malik Hasanov had a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Lee Eun Yong on 13 April.
Welcoming the guest warmly and wishing him success in his ambassial mission, Mr Hasanov proceeded to refer to the successful on-going Azerbaijani-Korean co-operation in various areas and the added growth of the connexions between Azerbaijan and South Korea thanks to the reciprocal visits of the presidents of the two states. The role of the parliaments in the progress of the relationship was mentioned as well.
As regards the economic co-operation, Korean companies are active and successful in our country’s most diverse areas including infrastructural and construction projects. There is a vast potential to expand the bilateral trade and investment interaction, in the opinion of Mr Hasanov who said he trusted that the efforts that Mr Ambassador was going to make to that end would come as a valuable contribution to the two-way connexions.
The WG member Rauf Aliyev, too, wished Mr Ambassador success in his new position. Mr Aliyev shared his views upon the advancement of the Azerbaijani-Korean relations and made several suggestions regarding interaction in sports and education.
Ambassador Lee Eun Yong thanked for the reception before mentioning that the start of his first ever ambassial mission coincided with the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. Lee Eun Yong expressed satisfaction with the progress of the bipartite connexions over the past three decades and emphasised the need to deepen them further.
Also, Lee Eun Yong touched on the projects implemented by his country in Azerbaijan and voiced his intention to spare no effort during his mission in Azerbaijan for the development of the relations.
Another member of the above-said Milli Majlis WG Ulvi Guliyev was present at the meeting as well.
