At the Meeting of a CIS IPA Permanent Commission

The IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sports had a virtual meeting on 15 April that the deputy chairman of the commission Rauf Aliyev opened and the members of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Assembly Rauf Aliyev and Tamam Jafarova took part in.

The organisational matters were addressed first. They reviewed the proposals about the 2023-2025 perspective work plan for the CIS model legislation. Also, Rauf Aliyev was re-elected as the commission deputy chairman.

Next, the meeting moved on to the legislative matters on its agenda. Its participants discussed the State Support to Film-Making and the Theatre and Theatrical Activities model laws as well as a new edition of the model Intellectual Property Code meant for the Commonwealth republics. Besides, they went through the aspects of putting together the Television and Broadcasting, and the E-Communications model laws.

The MPs also took care of such agenda items as, amongst others, elaborating a draft analysis of the perspective areas in model legislation on promotion of digital solutions in culture and tourism, the work the commission had carried out during 2021 and the events to honour the 30th anniversary of the CIS IPA.

Last, the date and the draft agenda of the next agenda meeting were determined.
