At the Meeting of the Agrarian Policy Committee
The chairman of the Milli Majlis Agrarian Policy Committee Tahir Rzayev said while opening the committee meeting on 25 April that the agenda consisted of the Food Security Bill in the third reading.
The Bill is devised to protect human and animal life and health as well as regulate security provisions for food and fodder to protect consumer rights in the country. It had been discussed meticulously at the committee meetings as well as at the parliamentary sittings in plenary; a good many remarks that MPs had made at the sittings had been incorporated in the draft law what with 38 of its articles having been modified by now, Mr Rzayev said. The document is drawn up by a working group made of members of the committee and employees of the concerned departments of the parliamentary Staff as well as the specialist state authorities.
The members of the Milli Majlis Sabir Hajiyev, Elshan Musayev, Eldar Guliyev, Igbal Mammadov, Azer Badamov and Etibar Aliyev put forth their considerations regarding the necessary compliance of all the food chain links with the appropriate standards. They also touched on several other related matters.
The chairman of the Food Security Agency Goshgar Tahmazli who was at the meeting thanked all the MPs with the Chair of the Milli Majlis at their head for having discussed the Bill so thoroughly. Its purpose is to protect public health, ensure food security, boost product outputs and increase the export potentials of goods made locally, Mr Tahmazli remarked, going on to shed lights on the items the MPs had highlit at the committee meeting.
In the end, it was recommended that the third-reading Bill should be brought before the Milli Majlis at the next plenum.
The Agrarian Policy Committee members Novruzali Aslanov, Aydin Huseynov, Emin Hajiyev and Mushfig Jafarov, the head of the FSA Staff Elkhan Mikayilov and other officials took part in the committee meeting as well.
