Romanian Parliamentary Delegation Call in Shusha

The visiting delegation led by the head of the Romania-Azerbaijan friendship group in the Romanian parliament’s Chamber of Deputies Cristian-Daniel Ivănuţă paid a visit to the town of Shusha on 28 April.

On arrival, the guests were taken to the Stronghold Walls as well as the Yukhari Govkhar Aga and Ashaghi Govkhar Aga mosques. They also went to the Chidir Plain and the city square. The Romanian parliamentary delegation got to learn about the refurbishment, construction and restoration work afoot in the town. They were told that the restoration of the local monuments of history started after the liberation of Shusha was under the direct control of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva.

The scope of the trip also included an introduction to the recently-commissioned airport of Fuzuli where the visitors were told that the facility, which had been built and put in use quickly, could handle both cargo and passenger aircraft.

Azay Guliyev who helms the Azerbaijan-Romania inter-parliamentary connexions working group of the Milli Majlis was accompanying the Romanian delegation.
