A member of the board of the New Azerbaijan Party MP Javid Osmanov visited Reyhan Aliyeva, the mother of the 44-day Patriotic War shahid Jalil Gudrat oglu Aliyev, in the village of Garadagli in Agdash Province on 29 November.

The esteem for the memory of the shahids whose names are inscribed in the history of their Motherland in golden letters and their being an example for the coming generations to follow were both stressed during the conversation. The victory had been won at the cost of the shahids’ blood and lives; the families they left behind will forever be embraced with the state care and attention.

The mother of Jalil Aliyev who had risen to the Shahidism in the battles for his native land thanked President, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for the state-level care of the shahid families.

Jalil Aliyev had shown valour in the engagements for the Jabrayil and Fuzuli Provinces, and was killed in action on the Hadrut front on 22 October. He was decorated with the medal ‘For the Motherland’ posthumously pursuant to the relevant presidential decree.

The year’s wake of the 44-day Patriotic War shahid Elnur Etibar oglu Ahmadov took place on 30 November in the village of Pireze in Agdash Province where he had been born and raised and where his family live now.

A member of the board of the New Azerbaijan Party MP Javid Osmanov, party activists, officials of the local executive authority, members of the provincial public, the top brass of the Agdash law enforcement authorities, shahid families’ members and the war gazies and veterans all joined the wake.

They all honoured the memory of Elnur Ahmadov and the other shahids who had laid their lives down for the territorial wholeness of their Motherland. Prayers were said for their souls. The combat path of Ahmadov was talked of; the participants of the wake expressed their condolences to his parents.

Elnur Ahmadov was killed in action on the Agdere-Terter front. The ‘For the Motherland’, ‘For Liberation of Sugovushan’ and ‘Valiant Warrior’ medals were bestowed upon him posthumously to the decrees of President, the victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
