The participants of the forthcoming joint meeting of the external relations committees of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia went to the Alley of Honour to pay homage to the memory of the builder of the modern Azerbaijani State Heydar Aliyev on 21 May. They put a wreath at his tombstone.

The Turkish and Georgian delegations were led by the corresponding parliamentary committee chairmen Akif Çağatay Kılıç and Nikoloz Samkharadze, and accompanied by their Azerbaijani counterpart Samad Seyidov and other officials.

Next, the delegations moved over to the Martyrs’ Lane to honour the memory of the heroes fallen in the struggle for the independence of their country and the wholeness of its territory. Their gravestones were decorated with fresh flowers; a wreath was put at the Eternal Flame memorial, too.

The guests also walked to Turkish Martyrs’ Memorial in the Lane and installed another wreath at the final resting place of those shahids, too.
