Azerbaijani MPs to Join Gatherings of CIS Youth Inter-Parliamentary Assembly

The CIS Youth Inter-Parliamentary Forum and the 18th plenary sitting of the CIS Youth Inter-Parliamentary Assembly are due on 9-10 June.

MP Emin Hajiyev is leaving for St Petersburg on 7 June to join the gatherings while his colleagues Nigyar Arpadarai and Konul Nurullayeva will link up to them remotely.

The forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and the 10th anniversary of the CIS Youth Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and themed ‘Young Parliamentarians – a Look into the Future of the CIS’ will go under the chairmanship of MP Hajiyev. The address of Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova to the forum participants will be heard there.

As for the planned tours-de-table, they are dedicated to the topics of the Youth Parliamentarism in the CIS: the Experience of Youth Parliamentary Units and Broadening the International Co-operation, and the Youth Public Diplomacy: the Inter-Regional Co-operation as well as other subjects of shared interest to all the Commonwealth republics. MP Arpadarai will be talking about youth policy and important vectors of legislative protection of the youth’s rights and interests.

The session of the Youth Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, to be co-ordinated by MP Hajiyev, there will be discussions about conducting the My Generation – My Choice contest in the CIS countries, streamlining the national legislations in part concerned with youth policy c/w generation of harmonisation recommendations, and a number of other items. MP Nurullayeva is going to share her opinions about the role of the youth in preserving cultural heritage and promoting popular arts.

MP Hajiyev’s trip to St Petersburg will be over on 11 June.
