Chair of Senate of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis Goes to Alley of Honour and Martyrs’ Lane

Chair of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva and the delegation led by her, on a visit to Azerbaijan currently, have gone to the Alley of Honour and the Martyrs’ Lane on 29 June.

The delegation from Uzbekistan paid a tribute to the memory of our national leader, the architect and constructor of the modern Azerbaijani State Heydar Aliyev. The delegation members put a wreath at his tombstone in the Alley of Honour; the tombstone was adorned with fresh flowers, too.

Also, the Uzbek guests paid their respects to the memory of the prominent ophthalmology researcher Academician Zarifa Aliyeva on whose tombstone fresh flowers were put as well.

Next, the Uzbek delegation moved over to the Martyrs’ Lane to honour the memory of the heroes fallen for the freedom and sovereignty of their Motherland and to put fresh flowers on their gravestones. Besides, the delegation called at the Eternal Flame Memorial.

The guests from Uzbekistan were enjoying the cityscape from the highest elevation of Baku as they were told the history of the Lane and about also the building work and amenity arrangements afoot in our capital.

First Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis Ali Huseynli, the head of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan inter-parliamentary connexions working group Eldar Ibrahimov and other officials accompanied the Uzbek parliamentarians.
