The Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan categorically protests against the resolution levelled at our country which the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Netherlands adopted on 23 May 2024, and condemns that move as a racist, Azerbaijanophobic, Turkophobic and Islamophobic political act. The claims made against our country in the resolution are partly based on distorted facts and partly on lies and fabricated information.

On the 24th of May, the head of the Milli Majlis Working Group on Interparliamentary Relations with the Czech Republic, Elnur Allahverdiyev, sent a letter of protest on behalf of the Group Members to the members of the Czech Republic-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament.

Latvian Parliamentary Delegation Go to Great Leader’s Tomb, Martyrs’ Lane
The delegation led by Speaker of the Parliament of Latvia Daiga Mieriņa, currently visiting in Azerbaijan, arrived at the Alley of Honour on 20 February to pay their deepest respects to the memory of our people’s National Leader, architect and builder of the modern Azerbaijani State Heydar Aliyev. A wreath was put at his tombstone.

The Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan considers the adoption by the European Parliament on 25 April 2024 of a resolution on civil society and human rights in Azerbaijan to be departed from objectivity and a biased political action against our country, and categorically refutes the unfounded accusations that are based on false and misleading information. It is deplorable that this international organisation would become a tool in the hands of the forces that have been pursuing a hostile and libellous campaign against Azerbaijan ever since the conclusion of the Garabagh War II which put an end to the 30-year-long Armenian occupation of Azerbaijani lands. It is no coincidence that the European Parliament has passed 8 resolutions levelled at Azerbaijan under various pretexts since 2021.
