Our MPs to Keep an Eye on Referendum in Kazakhstan
The members of the Milli Majlis Sabir Hajiyev and Hikmat Mammadov will leave for the Kazakh capital city of Nur-Sultan on 2 June to join the planned monitoring of the constitutional referendum set for 5 June: MP Hajiyev for the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and MP Mammadov for the TurkPA.
Chair of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova Sanctions an Extraordinary Parliamentary Session
The Chair of the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Sahiba Gafarova has signed a decree on the convention of an extraordinary parliamentary session, beginning on 1 June 2022, upon the insistence of 77 MPs and in keeping with Part II of Article 88 of the Constitution of the Azerbaijan Republic.

At the Meeting of the CIS IPA Commission
A member of the Milli Majlis and of the CIS IPA Standing Commission for State-Building and Study of Local Self-Government Experience Fazail Agamali was elected the Commission’s Deputy Chairman at its hybrid meeting which he had joined remotely on 26 May.

First Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis/chairman of the parliamentary Law Policy and State-Building Committee Ali Huseynli will leave for Budapest on 27 May to take part in an event on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Azerbaijan Republic on 28 May.

Azerbaijan’s Independence Day Will Be Celebrated in Georgia
MP Arzu Naghiyev who helms the Milli Majlis working group for the Azerbaijan-Georgia inter-parliamentary connexions will leave for Tbilisi on 26 May to join an official reception that our embassy in Georgia will be giving in honour of the 104th anniversary of our national independence – the Independence Day of the Azerbaijan Republic on the 28th of May.

Estonian Parliamentary Delegation Travelled to Shusha
The Estonian parliamentary delegation led by Chairman of Riigikogu Jüri Ratas who are in Azerbaijan on an official visit travelled to Shusha in the company of Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis Adil Aliyev, the head of the Azerbaijan-Estonia inter-parliamentary connexions working group Jala Ahmadova, the Azerbaijani ambassador in Tallinn Anar Maharramov and the Estonian ambassador in Baku Annely Kolk as well as other officials on 24 May.

MP Fazil Mustafa who co-chairs the Milli Majlis Culture Committee is in Ankara for the Days of Azerbaijani Culture and Arts that the embassy of Azerbaijan in Turkey is organising at the Eskişehir Osmangazi University with the intended participation of the arts interest groups of the Economics University of Azerbaijan.

They put flowers on the gravestones of the heroic sons of the Motherland who had died for her independence and territorial wholeness, and visited the Eternal Flame Memorial, too, on 23 May.

The 7th trilateral meeting of the external relations committees of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia took place in the town of Shusha on 22 May.

At the Online Meeting of the CIS IPA Permanent Economy and Finances Commission
The CIS IPA Permanent Commission on Economy and Finances had a virtual meeting on 20 May and the commission’s deputy chairman Rufat Guliyev and its members Iltizam Yusifov and Anar Mammadov, all three of the Milli Majlis delegation to the CIS IPA, got connected to the meeting, too.

Azeri MP Attends PACE Committees’ Meetings
The proposed children protection policy of the PACE, confirmation of the authorities of the chief reporter on children’s involvement and other matters were tabled at the meeting of the PACE Sub-Committee on Children chaired by the Azerbaijani MP, deputy chair of the International and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Committee Sevinj Fataliyeva in Paris on 18 May.

MP Ulviya Hamzayeva will be in Tashkent and Bukhara in Uzbekistan from the 19th to the 26th of May to take part in the International Goldwork, Jewellery and Weaving Arts Festival there.
