Azerbaijani-Ukrainian Co-operation Prospects Discussed at a Tour-de-Table
There was a round-table session ‘Ukraine-Azerbaijan: The Co-operation Prospects’ held as in the videoconferencing format on 10 June. Among the participants were the Leader of the Working Group for the interparliamentary connexions Azerbaijan-Ukraine Rufat Guliyev, officials of the Azerbaijan Republic State Committee for the Diaspora, members of the Friendship Group for Azerbaijan in Ukraine’s Supreme Rada, members of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in Azerbaijan, public figures and representatives of academic circles.
A Symposium Held at Ataturk Centre in Azerbaijan
A symposium dedicated to the 30th anniversary of independence of the Turkic states, the great victory of Azerbaijan in the Second Garabagh War and the 100th anniversary of the Great National Assembly of Turkey was held in Baku on 9 June. The event titled ‘The Turkic World’s Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’ had been arranged together by the TURKPA, the Milli Majlis and the Ataturk Centre in Azerbaijan.

The 6th session of the sixth-convention Milli Majlis started under the chairmanship of Speaker Sahiba Gafarova on 8 June.

The leader of the Milli Majlis Working Group for interparliamentary connexions with Latvia Kamran Bayramov welcomed the guests before telling them of the significance of the bipartite co-operation, preservation of the mutual relations rooted in history and the part played in their progress by the state leaders’ reciprocal visits.

Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova who is in Pakistan on an official visit met with Chairman of the Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani on 4 June. Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani who welcomed the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation cordially proceeded to talk about the bilateral ties that are of a historical origin and have only grown stronger yet after Azerbaijan gained independence.

Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with President Arif Alvi of Pakistan on 4 June in the context of her current official visit to that country. Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with Chairman of the National Assembly of Pakistan Asad Qaiser on 3 June as part of her current official visit to that country. Saying that he was glad to see the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation led by the Chair of the Milli Majlis in Pakistan, the Chairman of the National Assembly said confidently that the visit was going to make a contribution to the progress of the bilateral interparliamentary relations.
At the Meeting of the Sciences and Education Committee
The Chairman of the parliamentary Sciences and Education Committee Bakhtiyar Aliyev began the online meeting of the Committee held on 3 June by tabling the report on the work done during the 2021 spring session of the Milli Majlis. Mr Aliyev told of the eight committee meetings held, the fifteen matters processed and the issues contained in the relevant work plan resolved duly.
